Barns Courtney has lived through more industry upheaval than most artists survive — A&Rs disappearing, catalogs sold off, years stuck in dead-end contracts — yet he’s still standing. Signed at 19, reduced to sofa-surfing and odd jobs, he clawed his way back when Bradley Cooper hand-picked his voice for Burnt, just as his DIY single Glitter & Gold — recorded in an abandoned care home with filing cabinets for drums — quietly went platinum in the US. Since then, multiple Top 10 alt-radio hits and a reputation for chaotic, unmissable live shows have made him one of rock’s best-kept secrets. Now, a decade on and finally free on indie label Avenue A, Courtney isn’t making a comeback — he’s proving the music always connects, even when the machine fails.

Barns Courtney

Barns Courtney’s raucous third LP Supernatural is a high-flying and nail-biting concept album combining his potent blend of rock’s low rumble, the glitzy showmanship of glam, and that ever-distinctive bluesy howl. The record follows Courtney’s star-making debut The Attractions of Youth in 2017 and the sensational follow-up 404 in 2019, its ten tracks borne out of creative struggles ranging from writers’ block to label woes before landing at his new home of Avenue A. Drawing influence from Ziggy Stardust and the retrofuturism of the late ‘60s fashion world, the album’s narrative centers around a post-apocalyptic cult leader’s terrifying ascent in a fictional dystopia, as well as Courtney’s own hedonistic tendencies. Courtney teamed up with photographer Haris Nukem to bring this stage persona to life, and through a sense of DIY perseverance that included him getting behind the mixing boards himself, Courtney found his own true essence during this Supernatural’s creative journey, making for his strongest album to date.

Belle and Chain

Glam Americana act with breathy vocals and stoic lyricism- at times sounding like Lana Del Rey on an episode of True Detective. Formed by actress Spencer Grammer (Greek, Rick & Morty) in 2024, her storytelling prowess heard in upcoming single Don't You Worry Babe and captivating live video. Full-length coming winter 2025.
