BLUE STONES
With a rousing blues-rock approach that touches on both classic rock and sleek modern alt-rock, Canadian guitar and drums duo the Blue Stones cut their teeth around their native Ontario in the early 2010s before finding a wider audience with 2016's gritty Black Holes album. Thanks to a handful of high-profile placements, including ESPN's Monday Night Football, their song, "Rolling with the Punches," found legs and eventually netted them a deal with industry giant, Entertainment One, who reissued Black Holes in 2018. The duo boosted their studio technique for their next full-length album, 2021's Hidden Gems. -Timothy Monger

DES ROCS
With his tagline "Bringing rock & roll back to the people," Danny Rocco, who operates under the moniker Des Rocs, emerged in 2017 with a blues-slapped, fist-pumping electro-rock aesthetic that looked to modernize the rock & roll paradigm.

The Brooklyn native got his start alongside Gerry Lange in the pop duo Secret Weapons, who inked a deal with Epic Records in 2015 and released the fiery electro-pop single "Something New," which became a hit. Appearances on NBC's Today and an opening tour slot with Fun. followed, with the duo's full-length debut, As the setting sun comes crashing down on me, arriving in 2017.  Later that year Rocco began rolling out a new more-hard rock-oriented sound under the name Des Rocs. Employing a sonic aesthetic that was more in line with the Struts, Royal Blood, and the Black Keys, he released an EP, Let the Vultures In, in 2018. The following year marked the arrival of a second EP, Martyr Parade. -James Christopher Monger
