Cleveland’s favorite indie pop band is back with their third album, Greater Lakes, and it is, by all accounts, their best album yet. Bears have spent the past three years chasing the perfect melody during many late-night recording sessions, and they’ve come reasonably close to finding it. Tracks like “Eleven a.m.” and “From Good to Bad” find the band stepping out of their lo-fi sound and embracing a stronger crispness, while “Don’t Wait” brings out the ’60s-inspired organ sounds of their earlier albums. Greater Lakes is solid gold hits from beginning to end, so get ready to fall in love again.
